Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is college football moneyline betting?
The Moneyline wager is the simplest and most common way to bet on College Football, as it simply involves picking the winning side in any game.
-
What is the point spread in NCAAF betting?
Another common bet is the Point Spread. Bookmakers level the playing field by awarding a theoretical point advantage to the underdog team.
Rather than just winning the game (like with the Moneyline), the Point Spread requires the team who are marked as the favorite to win by a certain number of points (the spread) in order for any wager on them to win.
For example, if the underdog is given a Point Spread of +5.5, it means that in order for a wager on them to win, they must either win or lose by no more than 5 points. In contrast, if you bet on the favorite at -5.5, they must win by 6 points or more for you to win.
-
What is over/under (totals) betting in college football?
Another popular market is totals betting. This market is a simple wager on the total number of points scored in the game. The Total could be set at 51.5 points (the half-point "hook" is there to prevent a push).
With this in mind, you can then bet that the total points scored will be over or under a certain figure.
-
Does the NCAAF have live betting?
Yes. When a game is 'In-Play,' bettors can wager on the live odds (which change as the game progresses and the score changes) after the game has started.
You can wager on the game's outcome, the point spread and totals, or outcomes such as the next touchdown, interception, or field goal via live betting.
